A star studded class was enshrined tonight and this clip shows just some of the highlights.
I was very surprised by Jordan’s speech. In particular, how he gave credit to Scottie Pippen and numerous other members of the Bulls organization. I was also surprised at how emotional he was. His was gratitude, more than anything. And it conveyed the love of the game for which I never faulted the man. Only that he never let my guys win.
I thought it was especially interesting that he took a jab at Jerry Krause in his speech talking about the players going out and playing and that the organization comes second to the players because the organization may put together the team but the players still have to go out there and do it. Very interesting.
David Robinson’s speech was pretty good too. The bit where he says that Tim was his answer to prayers was funny as hell.
I am glad that these folks got in. Hopefully, the HoF can keep the riff raff out ….

“This year is personal for me. It’s so personal.”
I definitely believe that Iverson is taking this season with a much more emotional approach and that he is going out with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. At least, I can understand how he may think that …. but REALLY … let’s analyze this. He’s 34 years old and has played in the NBA for 13 years. He has made hundreds of millions of dollars, been on highlight reels, scored scads of points, caused and quelled controversies, brought people in and forced people out of his franchises … he’s had a FULL career. Really, he has nothing to prove individually. Guys like Chris Mullin, Tim Hardaway, Grant Hill, Patrick Ewing, John Stockton, Karl Malone … those guys have led great careers without winning a chip and yet their accomplishments are not diminished!
I think that he needs to realize this and understand that every player has a window of opportunity to make things happen. After that window closes or diminishes in size, it does NOT take away from your legacy or make you a chump. Everyone gets old. Bottom line. And we all need to be okay with that.
“I don’t think like everybody thinks. You know, maybe I’m just different. I look at the roster we have and I think we can win. I feel confident in myself and the roster that we can make things happen”
And this is where SO many people have issues with AI. My friend Allan said it best …
“I wouldn’t mind his mentality as much if he AT LEAST changed his playing style to benefit the team, now that he’s older …like passing once in a while. Not just passing while in the air and having nowhere to go, like, passing in the flow of the game or making the extra pass to an open teammate. I like that type of basketball.”
I hear ya, man. His time has come and gone and he needs to (for his own legacy) be able to bow out with grace and give way to the crop of new players coming in.
“It’s basically going to be my rookie season again. It hurts, but I turn the TV on, I read the paper, I listen to some of the things people say about me having the season that I had last year and me losing a step, things like that. They’re trying to put me in a rocking chair already.”
I mean, remember back when Iverson started his career? He crossed over Jordan and everyone flipped! It was on YouTube and got national headlines and weeks and weeks of ESPN replays. Jordan, refusing to give way and admit that he had lost a step against a younger (but not necessarily better) player called Iverson a punk and started a HUGE public discussion about basketball and the influence that hip hop had on the coming generation. Dress Codes were implemented and AI was tagged before he even had a chance to prove himself!
Now Iverson is in Jordan’s shoes and he needs to see how CLOSE he is to repeating the cycle he went through for someone else. It’s not about rocking chairs or egos, it’s about the SPEED of the sport and the fact that you can’t play like that forever! Eventually you lose a step. It’s life! You start by losing a quarter step. Then a half step and then before you know it, you’ve lost a full step and you’re retiring from the game!
People aren’t saying that he sucks.
People are saying that he’s an older player now and that to get to the next level he has to change the way he plays the game now. He’s not the 21 year old Georgetown Draft Pick anymore.
“This guy has many years of basketball left in him … and he is eager. He expressed it to us to get going with the task of helping our team reach a whole other level of success,”
So says a deluded Chris Wallace, GM of Memphis Operations.
In the Western Conference we have (among others) the LA Lakers, Phoenix Suns, Portland Trailblazers and Utah Jazz.
This isn’t even mentioning the members of the Division they reside in – the SouthWest Division! San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Hornets ….
Is Chris Wallace saying that by signing Allen Iverson, he’s gonna be able to take his 24 win team and win an EXTRA 30 games and get into the playoffs and compete with perennial powerhouses like the Spurs and Lakers for an NBA Finals berth?!?!?
Chris Wallace! Put Down The HASH Pipe!
AT BEST, you may be an 11th or 12th seed, ahead of Minnesota, Sacramento and the Clippers …. MAYBE! And in the end, you STILL miss the playoffs!
“I’m excited. It’s a guy I always watched growing up, and having him as a teammate is going to be a great opportunity for me.”
So says Mike Conley. And I believe that too. But box office ticket sales and team excitement will BARELY hide the fact that Allen Iverson went to the Grizzlies ONLY because they were the only team in the NBA that were willing to offer him more than the veteran’s minimum. At $3.5Million dollars, that’s pricey for one season. And I wonder what he will expect NEXT year during the free-agent bonanza of 2010! He can’t seriously expect to command the type of money that LeBr0n, Bosh or Wade are gonna be getting … can he?
EVEN if he has a glimmering, shimmering All-Star season, he’ll be 35 years old which is OLD for a professional point guard.
Bottom line, I am happy for AI, but I really wonder what is going on in his head and why it’s always about the money and never about practice!
—–
Here’s how I think his season will go:
His first game – against the Pistons – he’ll score about 25-30. He’ll average this and more over the first few weeks and then teams will clamp down on him. He’ll finish the year averaging 17 points on 23 shots a night with barely 5 assists and barely 4 rebounds a night. He’ll miss the playoffs and he will NOT be an all-star.
I LOVE AI, but truth is truth.
You heard it here first.

A trip to the Sports Injury Clinic on Friday revealed a clean X-Ray. No breaks, fractures or tendon tears. The doctor DID caution, however, that the ligaments were damaged and that I needed to rest up.
I am upset about that, but my recovery is gonna be way quicker than normal. I was able to get the swelling down to almost nothing over the last few days – a little bit around the ball of the ankle – and I have been moving it around consistently and going for (very painful) walks since Thursday. Today, the ball of the ankle is a light reddish-purple, but there is no swelling or bruising anywhere else on the foot. I am able to step normally (and painfully) on my foot, walk on my tip toes and walk on my heels.
All along, I am taking Aleve for the swelling and pain, massaging it and icing it during the evenings.
It IS encouraging, and with a handful of weeks left before our basketball season begins, I am trying very hard to both stay in shape AND help my body heal … it’s kind of like juggling.

So I am sitting here trying to figure out WHAT I wanna post about ….
Among many things I am gonna post about soon, I’m first gonna post this personal nugget: I find myself unemployed at this point in time once again and battling many emotions.
I knew it would come to this when I took the job at the company eighteen months ago. I kept telling my wife that this position was a short term thing with long term possibilities, if things panned out as I thought they might. I had many many clues that things were not well when I first took the job, but I took it because of the possibilities for professional growth and the money. But things like mismanagement of funds and projects to disputes between the various trades and office people, who all wanted power for themselves, and an owner who was more interested in the bottom line than how his operation ran were all signs that things were not well. But through it all, things were somewhat stable for me in my department until the arrival of an architect that would serve as my supervisor.
I’ve always had a thing against people of his particular profession. Cocky, know it alls with big egos and self esteem issues, they’ve always been the source of way too many issues for me. When this particular chap came in, I knew that things were gonna go downhill quickly. And he didn’t disappoint. He laid off 3 people in a span of 3 days and he reworked the entire department and half the company in his own image. I told my wife when this guy arrived that my days at the company were numbered and that I would be unemployed by September.
In recent months, the company had Hydro cut the power to the building (because they wouldn’t pay the bill), employee paycheques started bouncing (including 3 in a row for me) and there was a shortage of work (because suppliers refused to do business with them). Ultimately, this was the reason why I was let go. Shortage of work.
In reality, I could have quit MONTHS ago. But I stayed because I wanted a severance – the money.
But now that I got it, I feel kind of sour about the whole thing. It has more to do with the fact that they have NO clue as to what it was that I did and what it was that I was able to do for them.
So I sit here on a Saturday Night pondering my next move … go back to school, find another job in my field or just say screw it and become a full time blogger …. haha. Right.
For now, I’m gonna stay home and be a house husband. But I don’t know if our financial situation can support that for too long. I guess we’ll find out soon enough, won’t we?
I was one of the unlucky ones to miss this extravaganza. For your viewing pleasure, I am attaching the YouTube video here.
I cannot believe how Shaq makes Big Show look …. NORMAL! lol.

Quentin Richardson traded to Clippers for Zach Randolph
Q-Rich never even had a chance to unpack and see outside the airport before he was traded back to the team that drafted him into the League all those years ago, The Clippers! I feel kinda bad for him. He doesn’t strike me as the archetypal spolied athelete. But he now goes from one shitty franchise to another. Randolph, meanwhile, gets moved for the third time in 4 years and goes …. from one shitty team to another. I guess his poor attitude, terrible work ethic, one dimensional skills and unwillingness to adapt are not traits that are desired by many people … go figure.
$16,378,325 <—- That’s Amare Stoudemire’s contract for his 2009-2010 season …. CRAZY. Even if he WANTED to play for the Lakers, he CAN’T!
What in the holiest of hells is Ron Artest thinking?!??! Riding jocks to get a ring never seemed to be his style. But here we go again. Another great player whose legacy is tainted by riding a penis. All respect for Ron Ron is gone and he now becomes another in the line of Laker villains. I would have definitely preferred that he sign with the Globetrotters … Oh man, I hope Phil Jackson decides to retire ….
So these 2 teams are swapping players, huh? Well, no. Ariza did it to spite the Lakers cuz they didn’t give him enough money – and cuz they signed Artest. I have no idea how this will play out, but LAST time we saw a collection of potential all-stars in Laker Gold, they got swept in the Finals by a gritty Detroit team that was not afraid to mix it up.
Allen Iverson to finish career … in Philly!?!
I have no idea how that would work, or how it would affect the current roster. But finally, after Philly gets back on its feet from LOSING Allen Iverson, he wants to come back? For what? To decimate the franchise again? It’s a nice pipe dream, AI. Then again …. Artest is signing with the Rockets …
Orlando definitely does not appreciate Gortat or what he did for them this past season. If they did, they would have made a meaningful offer to him already and locked him up long term. He’s a good tough, gritty, serviceable defender with a good enough post game to be a great backup in Orlando. Instead, he’ll join the Mavs and be third banana behind Dampier and Diop or whoever the hell they have there now.
Mavs and Knicks making offer to J-Kidd
Can you imagine what J-Kidd would do with D’Antoni? I mean, J-Kidd may not be the best shooter, but he will have so many assists in New York that it will boggle the mind. It would be insane.
Ricky Rubio hates Minnesota and does not wanna play there
Don’t believe? Watch him NOT play there this season, or next season … or ANY season until he is traded from there.
Hey Ricky! Minnesota no es tan mal! Esta cerca a Canada y yo vivo alli! Regresa y juga con Minnesota, por favor!
lol
Celtics chasing Rasheed Wallace
I would hate to see Wallace in Boston. He would disappear in KG and Pierce’s ego. Not to mention the fact that his numbers would take a hit. And that he would not win a ring there …. Don’t do it ‘sheed! Your legacy is set! Don’t ride it! Don’t ride that jock!
Besides, Boston has already signed Robert Swift … what do they need ‘sheed for anyway?!?!?!
And speaking of Detroit … Pistons having a tough time finding a coach
After ousting first year man Michael Curry, the Pistons can’t even GIVE the job away as Doug Collins has said no now. Avery Johnson is the next in line and I have to wonder WHY AJ would say yes to this position. It’s a no win for him. The vets there are so set in their ways that he would be basically going in just to watch himself fail. But hey, at least …
Pistons sign Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva
I have no idea how this is gonna do anything other than signal the end of Rip Hamilton in Detroit colours …. I mean, Ben Gordon is a ball hog and Charlie V is so set on proving people wrong about him that he’s gonna chuck crap up too … I think we’re seeing the Pistons go from perennial playoff contenders to also rans. Bringing in Gordon is a great idea too, in that he’s a moody, diva like player … kinda similar to the rumours floating out about Rip Hamilton this year ….
Hedo Turkoglu stops in Portland for contract negotiations
And Rudy Fernandez has made it publicly clear that he is not okay with Hedo coming in. Dwight Howard has also gone public and professed his love for Hedo …. and why not? He was not only HUGE for them in the playoffs, he was also a lightning rod of attention that freed up Howard. And he knows it!
Toronto Raptors aggresively going after Hedo Turkoglu and David Lee
BOTH of these guys would go great with Chris Bosh and would make the Raps playoff contenders, if Marion stays. But no one wants to come play for the Raps right now …. which is a damn sad truth. So sad, in fact, that …
Are the Raptors looking to trade Chris Bosh?
This would be catastrophic to a franchise that has struggled to regain credibility since the Vince Carter era. But hey, at least Jose Calderon is Hungry again … of course it all means jack squat if Chris Bosh isn’t there to take attention away from him.

I think this would be a great time to do a PSA for everyone on what to do when you sprain your ankle …
I got this info from Mesilla Valley Soccer League’s Website, but the actual info comes from the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society …..
There’s a good chance that while playing as a child or stepping on an uneven surface as an adult you sprained your ankle–some 25,000 people do it every day.
Sometimes, it is an awkward moment when you lose your balance, but the pain quickly fades away and you go on your way. But the sprain could be more severe; your ankle might swell and it might hurt too much to stand on it. If it’s a severe sprain, you might have felt a “pop” when the injury happened.
A sprained ankle means one or more ligaments on the outer side of your ankle were stretched or torn. If it is not treated properly, you could have long-term problems.
You’re most likely to sprain your ankle when you have your toes on the ground and heel up (plantar flexion). This position puts your ankle’s ligaments under tension, making them vulnerable. A sudden force like landing on an uneven surface may turn your ankle inward (inversion). When this happens, one, two or three of your ligaments may be hurt.
Tell your doctor what you were doing when you sprained your ankle. He or she will examine it and may want an X-ray to make sure no bones are broken. Depending on how many ligaments are injuried, your sprain is classified as Grade I, II or III.
Treating your sprained ankle
Treating your sprained ankle properly may prevent chronic pain and instability. For a Grade I sprain, follow the R.I.C.E. guidelines:
For a Grade II sprain, follow the R.I.C.E. guidelines and allow more time for healing. A doctor may immobilize or splint your sprained ankle.
A Grade III sprain puts you at risk for permanent ankle instability. Surgery may rarely be needed to repair the damage, especially in competitive athletes. For severe ankle sprains, your doctor may also consider treating you with a short leg cast for 2-3 weeks or a walking boot. People who sprain their ankle repeatedly may also need surgical repair to tighten their ligaments.
Rehabilitating your sprained ankle
Every ligament injury needs rehabilitation. Otherwise, your sprained ankle might not heal completely and you might re-injure it. All ankle sprains, from mild to severe, require three phases of recovery:
Once you can stand on your ankle again, your doctor will prescribe exercise routines to strengthen your muscles and ligaments, and increase your flexibility, balance and coordination. Later, you may walk, jog and run figure eights with your ankle taped or in a supportive ankle brace.
It’s important to complete the rehabilitation program because it makes it less likely that you’ll hurt the same ankle again. If you don’t complete rehabilitation, you could suffer chronic pain, instability and arthritis in your ankle. If your ankle still hurts, it could mean that the sprained ligament (s) has not healed right, or that some other injury also happened.
To prevent future sprained ankles, pay attention to your body’s warning signs to slow down when you feel pain or fatigue, and stay in shape with good muscle balance, flexibility and strength in your soft tissues.

I’ve grown increasingly unhappy with Yahoo’s services as far as Blog hosting. I am constantly receiving error messages and am having troubles with Tags not coming through, transfers not popping in properly and I have lost the ability to put YouTube videos on here at all – that was lost a long time ago.
I have sent Yahoo 2 notices of these issues already and have received NO answer from them.
I am considering drastic measures at this point and am looking heavily to move my blog to another site … possibly even starting up a domain to go along with it.
I have to do some research, but I am leaning heavily towards starting up a paid blog somewhere …. just not on Yahoo anymore …

So the NBA Regular Season is now over and my Spurs are in fifth place.
I won’t even bother with previews or anything more than simple predictions for this year cuz my Spurs aren’t looking too good right about now …
The only Prediciton that matters: NBA FINALS – my expected matchup – Lakers vs. Cavs.
San Anotnio has a SLIM chance of making it there, but with Manu being out and Timmy having problems with his knees, I’d say it’ll be hard for them to make it past the Lake Show in the Conference Finals, if they can make it past Los Mavs and The Hornets ….
As always and forever will be …. Go Spurs Go!

Our Men’s League season came to a premature close last Monday (April 13) as well with a semi final loss to a team called Slip N Slide.
Quite frankly, I think we were outplayed. Simple and clear.
We were trounced by 15 but in reality it had less to do with what THEY did to us as a team and more to do with how WE played as an offensive unit. Bluntly, we couldn’t hit the backside of a barn. Our guards were cold and myself and Nate were the leading scorers with 14 and 11 respectively. …. Not to say that we can’t play, but when the two of us lead the way in scoring, it usually spells doom for us.
On the other team’s end, the basket was like 10 feet wide. Everything they threw up seemingly went in. It was ridiculous. And to their credit, they were able to isolate our weak spots and capitalize on them before we had a chance to close the gap. Defensively, they played a 2-3 zone – usually the hallmark of a lazy defensive team. But we were unable to make them pay for it as much as I would have liked.
We finished the season 11-3 and we went 2-1 in playoffs for a total W/L record of 13-4. Not bad. Not GREAT … but not bad. I’d say that it was a successful season regardless of the semi final melt down.
On the bright side, my most hated teams (Fort Garry and Rim Lickers) went down in the first round and the undefeated team (The Squad) lost in the semis as well, so I would say that I am happy with the results of this year no matter WHO wins now.
I am truly grateful to my guys for another fun season of basketball and I look forward to next year when we can come in fresh and try to keep building on this year’s success.

Wow …. has it REALLY been over a month since I blogged last?
I know things are busy but this is ridiculous!
So our fantasy league is over and my Can-O-Whoop-Ass was crowned champion of this year's league on Yahoo.
I am glad to reclaim my title, but can't take full credit for it as I had a couple of assists dished to me from Nate, Dan, Jimmy and Kaiser. Without their help, I might have lost in the first round and we might have had a rookie win it ~shudder~
My Sportingnews Fantasy wasn't as productive. I only checked it every 2 or 3 weeks, but I still managed to end up in 30th place out of 60. Not bad since the top 9 or 10 teams were buying trades to help them win … By the way, that was the LAST time I ever do a friggin Pro League …. I can't believe people actually PAY Money to trade a virtual person ….
So now we're done for the year.
The long nuclear winter of the NBA off season looms for us now …… I can't wait til October …

On the couch I sit and I gawk,
At all the teams playing, who float like hawks.
They dive and reach and dunk with ease,
The screaming fans, they do appease.
They contort their bodies up in mid air,
As they breathe that wonderful air up there.
They play & trade baskets back & forth,
Teams from East, West, South and North
The buzzer goes off, it says it's Half.
I'm giddy with joy. I giggle, I laugh.
I watch the highlights and fidget some more,
I love this game tight, right down to my core.
It starts again! my breath, it leaves!
My heart and soul over runneth with glee.
The game is tight, it see saws again,
I get so nervous I call a friend!
"Did you just see that? Tell me you watched!"
"I can't believe they let that guy walk!"
"I gotta go, I can't miss anymore!"
"Yeah I'll call you later, maybe 'round four!"
Back to the game, the clock's down to ten!
The battle lines drawn, they fight like men.
Trading blows of athletic skills,
With honour, sportsmanship and an orange peel.
The clock reads one! The shot goes up!
It rattles in after hitting the cup!
I jump for joy and scream like a kid,
As I look around at the mess I did.
No question about it, I love basketball!
The phone starts ringing – another call.
"Turn your TV to channel ten!"
"Another game's on! Let's do it again!"
MARCH MADNESS, BABY!

I had the pleasure to go and watch my Sturgeon Heights Huskies play vs. Kelvin Clippers at the Provincial Finals this year!
Our team, after 6 times bridemaid, is now the bride! Sturgeon Heights won the game 59-45 in front of a pro-Sturgeon Heights audience! Provincial Champs!
It was loud, it was crazy … I saw alumni from the last 10 years there to support the team and our friend and coach, Steve Tackie!
I remember being there 2 or 3 times when I coached with Steve and Sanjeev … those were the beginning days of the current husky Dynasty!
Congrats Coach! Congrats JV Boys!
You made Sturgeon/Silver Heights history as the first team EVER to win a provincial championship! And that is something that no one can take away from you now!
Way to go!

Next up is the Varsity Guys, who play in their own Semi Final game this Thursday!
Go Varsity Boys! You can do it too! Make it a complete run!

How much of a douche is he?
So far this season, he's made friendly with Kobe. Okay.
But he's dissed Bill Walton (an easy one but still), Kareem, Chris Bosh, Jeff & Stan Van Gundy, Dwight Howard and Patrick Ewing
Stan Van Gundy on Shaq flopping
I was shocked, seriously, shocked. And very disappointed cause he knows what it’s like. Lets stand up and play like men, and I think our guy did that tonight.
Shaquille O’Neal in response
He (Howard) came with the same old, stale Patrick Ewing move so I tried to stand there and take the charge. The new rules say if you come through, you fall. But as I fell, I realized that it was a flop and it reminded me of Coach Van Gundy’s whole coaching career. The one thing I despise is a frontrunner. First of all, none of his players like him. When it gets tough, he will become the master of panic like he did before and he will quit like he did before. The one thing I despise is frontrunners. Yeah, he’s got a young team playing good but don’t be a frontrunner. Him and his brother and even the legend on the bench ain’t done what I’ve done in my whole career. So flopping would be the wrong choice of words.
I just tried to take a charge. The fucking rules say you can’t stand there and get hit. You’ve got to fall. He got the same old stinking move that Patrick Ewing has been doing his whole career. I went down, got up and didn’t complain. I see him and Stan complaining the whole game because they’ve got to. Remember, I’ve done more than him, his brother and Patrick Ewing.
Stan Van Gundy reminds me of a broke navigational system. He knows everything about everything but ain’t never been nowhere. Think about that. If I’m right here and I type in the address of where you’re going, I know where it’s at but I’m not going there.
When a bum says some shit about it and I respond, you can fucking cancel that cuz I know how he is in real life. We’ll see when the playoffs start and he fucking panics and quits like he did when he was here (in Miami). And you fucking print it just like that. Do I look soft to you like you can say something and I’m not going to say something?
Notice they didn’t play me straight up. We’ll see how far they go cuz I know Stan. I said this a long time ago but I was actually talking about him: ‘When the general panics, the troops will panic. Like in business, when the head panics and takes out all his stock, what happens?
All the players hate him. The players don’t even like him. I hate frontrunners. I really do. I don’t like any frontrunners. There’s a pecking order involved. I’ve been there six times.
I ain’t going to let no bum like him rip me and not say anything back. You can cancel that shit all the way. Usually, I let shit go. Not that. Not him. Hell no.
The rules say when a guy goes through your chest you’ve got to fall to get the call. It was a flop. You’ve watched me play for 17 years. I don’t play like that.
I’m not going to sit around and let nobodies take a shot at me and he is a nobody to me. And if he thinks he can get in a little press conference and take shots at me like I’m not going to say something back, he’s got another thing coming.
——
“I heard what Chris Bosh said, and that’s strong words coming from the RuPaul of big men,” O’Neal said. “I’m going to do the same thing (in their next meeting) I did before – make him quit. Make ‘em quit and complain. It’s what I do.”
Chris Bosh's answer: “I didn’t laugh or anything, it wasn’t funny,” Bosh said. “I was kind of upset with that.
“He has been around the league for awhile and I expected a lot more professionalism out of him. I thought we were cool. Whatever.”

Shaq is a 7 foot douchebag …

Haha. Ford was better in TO where he had some people to pass to …
Shaq disses Kareem – Kareem stays true
Shaq is turning into a real asshole.
Eddie House will shoot your face off
Just another interesting example of how even borderline good NBA players practice – he may be average in the L, but he would be awesome everywhere else. Especially in the peg.
Donald Sterling is crazy and Al Thornton is selfish
Granted, Ricky Davis is on the team. But Thornton does suck a massive whale dick this year …
I'd blow the team up & start fresh.

Chris Bosh: Time to Show & Prove
I can understand his frustrations. And I can understand his standpoint. The season being what it is is NOT his fault. The Raps NEED to keep Bosh happy – they need better players around him.
Michael Jordan didn't want Kwame Brown – he wanted Elton Brand
Poor Kwame. We all know he sucks. But his claim to fame was "Michael Jordan drafted me. he wanted me. he thought I could do it"
Well, sorry Kwame. your bubble JUST burst.
Wah Wah Wah …. next he'll be saying Stoudemire was a spoiled baby …
Pacers Organization have lost so much money, they may have to leave Indiana
I have no idea how this could get close to happening … The Home of Reggie Miller, Rik Smits and Mark Jackson … GONE!??!?!
To Where!?!?!?!?? Tampa Bay? Wilmington?!?!?
STAY IN INDIANA!
Laker Warts and The Kobe/Artest Beef
I hate Kobe so much. he is such a tool. I swear that if ANY other player was the franchise for LA, I'd probably be cheering for them. Funny how everyone stopped talking about him being a rapist …
LaMarcus Aldridge embarrasses Erick Dampier
Not like it's hard to do, but this is still one SICK, NASTY dunk …
Funny that it's Lil Wayne that is doing the heckling … this guys is a joke. About as much as Larry Hughes and QRich combined I suppose.
Wade and Riley made aggressive pitch to Steph – he said no.
I don't know if it was a bright move or a dumb one. He'll be a role player in Boston, where he could have gone and been a starter in Miami … I guess we'll find out which it was once we see where Boston finishes in teh playoffs …
Don Nelson to Jamal Crawford: "We don't want you here. Get Out."
At least the cards are on the table. Sucks for Jamal though … but I guess that's what happens when you're a black hole of basketball.

But the unspectacular dunk shattered the backboard and – according to rules – dunking in pregame and breaking the backboard costs the team the game. No exceptions. If a backboard is broken with a dunk in a game, it is a technical called.
I smell a rule change ….
Now, that's in the States.
Up in Canada, we've always had the no dunk rule in place. It's always been there. So I find it both funny AND unfortunate for the team that was forced to forfeit.

Iverson is out of the Pistons lineup for the next 2 weeks with a sore back
Seems to me like it's a bruised ego and a bad attitude.
I would imagine that Iverson is legitimately hurt, but seeing all the things he's played through before makes me wonder if he's just sitting because he sees that Detroit is not a good fit for him or something like that.

I think Van Gundy was trying to be funny and play a little fun back and forth with O'Neal, but O'Neal took it to a personal level by saying ….
"I know for a fact that he's a master of panic, and when it gets time for his team to go in the postseason and do certain things, he will let them down because of his panic. I've been there before, I've played for him. Now I see why everybody who plays for him doesn't like him."
I cannot believe that Shaq would be so rude to the guy who helped resuscitate his career after the falling out in LA.
Way to show some class and a sense of humour, Shaq.
He can sure dish it out, but he can't take it.

Owner blasts Mavericks in media
"It's only one game, which I keep reminding myself of, But let's just say I wasn't happy with our preparation, execution or effort. Not only did it look like we had no idea what we were doing, but we did it without effort. The effort and energy, on both sides of the ball, by each player will decide their future with the Mavericks."
"If each player can't take the personal initiative to make every game important and play like it, I don't see them being here next season. The ball won't always bounce the way we want it to, but every player can control their level of effort. I don't care what their contract is. I would rather turn over the roster 100 percent than subject fans to another game like last night."
"This team has the talent to win in the playoffs, But that's only going to happen if all 15 guys know and execute their assignments and play every possession like it's important."
I'd hate to be in the D right now ….

So the fact get out. He was suspended because he refused to leave the game after the coach, George Karl, asked him to sit.
Deserved suspension, I think.
And then people wonder why he is inconsistent and perpetually the poster boy for everything the NBA should NOT be …
*** UPDATE Feb 4, 2009 ***
Melo, Karl say they've moved past the suspension
Really?
I don't think Melo agrees …
"Anthony agreed, but he said he didn't feel he deserved to be suspended in the first place. He said it was just a matter of wanting to stay in the game because he had a hot shooting hand."
HOT SHOOTING HAND???? REALLY???
The Box Score shows that Melo went 8-24 from the field, 1-3 from 3 point range and 3-4 from the FT line for 20 pts, 8 reb, 4 ast ….
EIGHT shots made out of TWENTY FOUR total shots taken …. THAT qualifies as "a hot shooting hand"?!?!?!?!?
If that's the case then get me on the phone with San Antonio cuz I'm shooting like Fucking Steve Kerr!
*** UPDATE Feb 5 2009 ***
Melo still a dick about disobeying coach.
That's right Melo, you were justified in doing what you did and it was the COACH who was wrong. Way to reason like a responsible adult!
