Stephon Marbury playing with Celtics tonight!
Finalized. Enter the crash and burn of Boston …
Ben Wallace breaks leg in game
Prognosis is 4-6 weeks to rehab it back to health. Will it hurt the Cavs? not too much, but his interior D and rebounding will be missed ….

With only 2 games left in our regular season, the thought dawned on me that the off season is just a few short weeks away …..
I'm definitely looking forward to this off season … I've got a renewed enthusiasm for off season workouts and my interest in P90X has not waned since last year ….

I was playing at my practice gym 2 weeks ago against the usual suspects when one of the cats there started to talk smack to me because he scored a lucky hail mary shot. Okay. One shot. I'll give it to him, it was ridiculous, but it went in and was nice.
A few plays later, I fall asleep on D and he gets an easy one. Now he starts to do the lame John Cena "You can't see me" thing. Now I get pissed. I come down post him up and abuse him for the remainder of the game on both ends of the floor. The score is 5-6 for us and, on the final point, he brags that he tipped the ball to an open man for a basket. So I get the ball at the wing and look at him and this exchange takes place ….
Me: "How old are you, dude?" (not using names in order to defend the guilty)
Dude: "19"
Me: "Oh okay. Just wanted to check"
I drive the lane, fake him out and score the game winner. After the bucket goes in I turn to him
Me: "Cuz you just got beat by a guy nearly twice your age. How does it make you feel, knowing that you got beaten by your dad?"
Dude: "whatever man"
~Everyone laughs at the kid~
After that, it hit me …. I have now played basketball for about 17 years. I was about 15 when I started (Grade 10) and I am now 32. The guys that I am playing now are getting to be half my age!
I have had my men's league team for 9 seasons now. I've seen teams come and go. I've seen teammates come and go for various reasons. We've won chips, and lost tough games. We've made teams quit (at our last game, the opposing team quit with 1:30 left in the game – just walked off the floor) …. and through it all, it never really dawned on me that I am now "that old guy" on my team. ~chuckling~
When I started playing men's league, I was that young guy, the talent, the raw player that could be decent for a team. And now, I am making that judgment call of other players.
It's strange how time changes things.
I tell ya, some days I FEEL old. Other days, I feel as spry as the 19 year olds.
I have rediscovered my passion for the game this year. With all the stresses at work and at home, the court has become a refuge once again. A place where I go and play my heart out and forget my Real Life for a bit. I am a different person. Aggressive, Impulsive, Strong.
Add in the fact that I am in better shape (P90X) and that I have suffered no real injury to speak of so far and you have the renaissance of a baller. My "experience" simply makes my athletic abilities stand out even more now, I think …
I may be an old guy now, but I love Basketball with all my being.

Stephon Marbury Released by NY Knicks
This is big news. Why? Because now the NY Knicks have begun to officially move on from the Isiah Thomas era in New York. It also means that all distractions now set aside, the Knicks can concentrate on ONLY playing ball.
It also means the beginning of the end for Boston, if they sign him.
The Celtics have also picked up Mikki Moore from Sacramento. This is an insignificant move on their behalf and it makes me wonder if Ainge is purposefully trying to sabotage any chances at repeating.
I mean, really. Anyone who thinks that Marbury is psychologically good to go on the basketball court is on crack. More so if they think he can come in and positively impact a game. I don't beleve it, anyway. I respect Marbury as a player, but I do not see him doing anything but harming team chemistry at this point in the year. And with KG injured and the Celtics not doing as well as they'd hoped and with basket cases like Kendrick Perkins and Glen Davis, I highly doubt that introducing a polarizing personality such as Marbury will do anything but hurt their own chances.

Brendan Haywood and Gilbert Arenas do non contact drills
Interesting development for the Wiz, but at 15 games off the #8 spot, I see NO reason why they should do anything other than rehab, strengthen and improve conditioning.
Get well, guys. There's always next year!
Behold the resurgence of Basketball John Starks – Zipway!
A cool brand that is not a cheap investment up front but that can be customized and is affordable afterwards. Has potential. It's good to see NBA guys use their money and smarts for something positive.
Various Rumours floating around
The Spurs didn't make a move, but not for lack of trying. They couldn't get Nets guard Vince Carter because they wouldn't include Roger Mason in the deal. There were whispers that they almost pried Marcus Camby loose from the Clippers (who told a certain team in Cleveland that he wasn't available) at the trade deadline. The Spurs offered Bruce Bowen, Fabricio Oberto and George Hill.
Can you IMAGINE Marcus Camby and Tim Duncan?!?!? Guaranteed Championship! Do it, RC Buford! Do it!
Suns insiders say team president Steve Kerr might have traded Shaquille O'Neal to the Cavs if they had been willing to include Wally Szczerbiak rather than Ben Wallace in the package. Sasha Pavlovic's name was also in the mix. The Suns were trying to shed payroll. That's probably a good tactic for teams in ninth place and in line to pay the luxury tax.
Shaq and LeBron! Man, that would have been a guaranteed championship run ….
Dirk Nowitzki wants to finish off his career as a Maverick
If he wants to win a ring, though, and they don't win this year …. he might have to go the KG route ….

So there's a bunch of headlines that are making news ONLY for the fact that they have been disasters since they took place. Let's take a look at a few of these trainwrecks.
The Pistons
They made changes to the roster in an attempt to get over the hump of the ECF (Eastern Conference Finals) showings of the last few years. So what do they do? They trade the main cog in the machine and get back a defective screw.
I'm a fan of Iverson for MANY reasons. But ONE of those reasons is NOT his leadership on the basketball court. I think, for the most part, that he has shirked his role of leader throughout his career and opted for a "lead by scoring" mentality. It aided him well enough when he was an elite player – a young gun. But since his career began it's downward spiral, and since he turned to a veteran of the League, that scoring ability is no longer enough. His selfish play and insistence on doing things his way has definitely hurt his teams. Don't believe? See the effect it had on Carmelo Anthony, who went from league darling to thug in 0 seconds flat.
Now he's in Detroit, where a veteran team who thrives on trust and defense needed a guy to come in and LEAD – PGs are supposed to be the de-facto basketball floor leader, the general – and he still insists on hogging the ball and chucking up shots. Meanwhile, a proven all-star and NBA Champ (Rip Hamilton) is forced to the bench because Iverson "has always started and is not sure if he could adjust"
Right now, the Pistons are at .500 (27-27), good for #6 in the East. But they've lost lost their last 5 games, including a 17 point shallacking by the Cavs earlier this week. The Pistons are in REAL danger of falling out of the playoffs as they are only 4 games (losing) away from the #11 spot.
The Raptors
Since firing Sam Mitchell, Jay Traino has adopted a run & gun offensive philosophy – exactly what the Raptors expected when Colangelo took over. It also happens to be the exact opposite of Mitchell's offense and what Bosh is used to playing. Add to that the failed experiments of the O'Neal trade, the relative success of TJ Ford and Rasho Nesterovic and the mid season move to acquire an angry malcontent (Shawn Marion) and you have the makings of a train wreck.
This isn't even mentioning Bosh's bouts with injury, Calderon's frailty and Bargnani's inconsistency and lack of defensive focus.
When you consider the fact that Bosh is expected to opt out of his contractr in 2010 and that re signing Shawn Marion is a far fetched idea, you start to form a bleak picture and you get a good idea of what it is like to be a Raptor fan this year.
They currently sit at #14 in the East, 6 games out of the #8 spot, behind such perennial powerhouses such as Charlotte and Milwaukee and ahead of ONLY the Washington Wizards.
I am a Raptors Fan. And it has been painful.
The Clippers
That this would be a train wreck of a season, has been OBVIOUS to everyone ever since Elton Brand left for the Sixers.
Magette's departure and final words to Davis "You're in for a rude awakening" would foreshadow what has been an atrocious year for the Clips.
The House that Brand Built had experienced relative success having made the playoffs recently and after looking to acquire Davis, things appeared to be looking up – for a bit. But before you knew it, both Brand and Maggette bolted and Davis was left with nothing. They tried to piece together a team and brought in a good interior defender to plug the holes left behind by Davis' lack of defensive intensity. But Camby has been injured a lot. So has Kaman – no surprise there. Then there's Ricky "Poppin Pills" Davis – an acknowledged drug addict with a penchant for selfish play – who seems content to merely go through the motions and get his. Al Thornton, a kid with so much potential a couple of years ago, has regressed to a shot chucking selfish player – a sad sight to see when you remember how GOOD he was in his rookie and soph seasons.
This is not even mentioning the penny pinching scrooge of an owner (Donald Sterling) or the lawsuit that has been brough forth by Elgin Baylor for discrimination. Combine in these two factors along with a coach / GM that has been largely tuned out by the players and who seems to bungle everything that he does right now, and it's hard to imagine this team as anything less than a laughing stock.
Davis is vowing to play well after being dogged by allegations of quitting. I wanna see it first before I hop on board the Davis bandwagon. And regardless of ONE player's commitment, this season is over and is a 100% trainwreck – the complete opposite of Kobe's tight knit Laker crew – though Jackson has more to do with that than Kobe.

BIG News out of the L this week! Man, miss a day or two of blogging and the world goes crazy! …..
Amare Stoudemire out for (potentially) rest of the year with detached retina
Wow. So okay, let's examine this. They run Mike D'Antoni out of town for a more "defensive" mentality. They get rid of Raja Bell, easily their best defender and Boris Diaw, one of the more versatile players on their roster, because they didn't "fit" the new coaching philosophy. Then they fire their coach because "it's not working" and they go back to the Old Suns Basketball of 8 seconds or less – now WITHOUT their best defender and versatile forward – who becomes MORE valuable now that STAT is out for the next 8 weeks.
And they were looking at trading away both Shaq AND Amare this month.
Explain to me how this is NOT a trainwreck!
If the playoffs started RIGHT NOW, Phoenix would not even make the #8 seed! This is insanity! With a roster featuring Jason Richardson, Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Shaquille O'Neal, Grant Hill and Leandro Barbosa, anything less than a playoff spot is a COLOSSAL FAILURE!
Garnett out for 3 weeks with knee strain
I feel bad for this ONLY because I own him in a fantasy basketball league. But I hope he uses his time off to think about how much of a douchebag he has become. I got love for KG, but only if he stops his on court idiocy.
Robert Horry to Lakers?
Yeah, THIS would give them another shot at a chip. Maybe it would Sell some tickets. You knoe, let Horry talk about the good old days and sip lemonade on the sideline in his frickin rocker! Mix up some geritol, people! April is just around the corner!
Antoine Walker to the Raptors?
Would I sign 'Toine?
says one mysterious reader "I’d sign ‘Toine. Right after chewing my own arm off."
The "truth" behind the Chandler UN-trade
So the guy is traded, then is UN-traded because he fails a physical … what the hell? did he eat pork rhinds and drink gravy while out with Turf Toe? I smell a "do over" on behalf of NO after seeing how pissed CP3 and DWest were.
Now, if you were Chandler, could you look the GM and coach straight in the face when they talk of loyalty and all that?
Chris Wilcox traded by Thunder
He was traded to New York in exchange for Malik Rose. Wow. The Thunder REALLY didn't want Wilcox as a part of their team, huh?
Mikki Moore – in Boston?
Great Idea. Let's resolve our lack of offensive versatility by adding a very one dimensional player! Moore may defend and rebound, but he can't make plays. I respect him a bunch, but I don't think he's that "piece" that they need to make that playoff jump.
Well, we know FOR SURE that Will Solomon is now a Celtic.
The Raps traded this promising young PG to Beantown in exchange for Patrick O'Bryant. Yeah. Cuz he's gonna help the Raps make the playoffs.
Unrestricted Free Agent Trevor Ariza says "Give me the money!"
Hey, ANYTHING to topple the Laker nut riders. Reality is a bitch, though, Ariza. Take off those rose tinted goggles, dude.
Rockets wanted to trade Artest, but didn't
Interesting …. can you say "year end implosion"?
Artest's former coach Reggie Theus: "I wasn't given a fair shot."
I agree with him. But unfortunately, the players won't be held accountable. Why? I don't know why. But it sucks that good coaches (18 so far) get the axe while guys like Walker and Artest (as good a defender as he is) keep their bad attitudes and expect money for it.
Rafer Alston traded to Orlando Magic
Memphis, Orlando and Houston orchestrate a 3 team deal ….
To Orlando: Rafer Alston (from Houston)
To Memphis: 1st round pick, Mike Wilks, Adonal Foyle & Cash (from Orlando)
To Houston: Brian Cook, Kyle Lowry (from Memphis)
Orlando needed to do this ever since Jameer Nelson went down with that shoulder injury. They've been languishing and needed veteran athleticism at the PG position that Tyronne Lue & Anthony Johnson could not provide.
Memphis is in perpetual rebuild mode and appear to be in competition with themselves to see how bad they can possibly be.
Houston needed a change of scenery beacuse of the locker room tension and issues with the current roster.
I'd say it was a win win for everyone.
Lamar Odom thinks he might be going to Hall Of Fame
Stop Snickering, Rico.
Raptors get DESTROYED by Knicks, get revenge
In the aftermath of all this, Marion speaks up, tells everyone what time it is.
The Raptors are a hurting franchise right now. Adding O'Bryant and Marion is not the answer. They need to get rid of Ukic and they need to trade Joey Graham and Anthony Parker for more consistent players.
Greg Oden out with a bruised knee
Anyone surprised by this, raise your hand! Anyone? Anyone? No? Okay, next topic.
Danny Granger out for 3-4 weeks with a partial tear in foot tendon
I had plantar fasciitis last year and I believe that there is NO way that this can be anything less than excruiciating. Fortunately for the Pacers, TJ Ford and Troy Murphy are putting up solid numbers …. hear that, Raps? TJ FORD!
Larry Hughes traded to New York
He was traded by Chiocago in exchange for Tim Thomas, Jerome James and Anthony Roberson. ….. Jerome James is still alive?
Thabo Sefolosha traded to Thunder
He was given away for a draft pick (one of 5 held by OKC) in the next year or two. I feel genuinely bad for Sefolosha as I feel he is a really good player and simply needs someone to give him a shot – kinda like Boris Diaw when he was in Atlanta. Good luck in OKC, dude. At least you can win minutes there.
Rashad McCants traded to Kings
He was sent, along with Calvin Booth, to Sacramento in exchane for Shelden Williams and Bobby Brown. No funkin arou
nd. McCants has been labelled a "malcontent" and "moody". Yeah, those tags will help him find consistent work.
3 team deal sees Brad Miller finally traded
Chicago: Gets Brad Miller & John Salmons
Sacramento: Gets Ike Diogu, Andres Nocioni & Drew Gooden
Portland: Gets Michael Ruffin
For Portland, it's all about the salary dump in preparation for Darius Miles fiasco. For Chicago and Sacto, it's a win win as both teams get rid of players who are less useful now than when they were acquired. Particularly Chicago comes away looking good as they get a really good passing big in Miller and a capable scorer in Salmons. But, with Ben Gordon and Hinrich chucking up shots at will, how will Salmons ever get the ball to do his work? He's a mediocre defender, at best, so you take away his O and there's pretty much nothing left. Sacramento looks good on the trade too as they get Nocioni and Gooden and they solidify the 3 & 4, at which they are particularly thin.
T-Mac close to retirement?
Great article, even better YouTube clips. But the guy is only 30! He just needs some rest. A year or two off and then come back and see where he is.
Memphis Grizzlies pick up Chris Mihm from Lakers in exchange for 2nd round pick
Poor Chris Mihm, he rehabs for 2 years and for all his hard work he's shipped away to the 7th circle of hell.
Here's a quick update of injuries, too.
Tony Allen – out indefinitely with Thumb injury
Sasha Pavlovic – out until March with ankle injury
Jason Terry – out until late March with broken hand
Desmond Mason – Out for the season with a knee injury
Mike Dunleavy – Out for the season with knee injury
Monta Ellis – out for 2 weeks with ankle injury (not surgically repaired one)

BLOCKBUSTER!!!!!
With the trade deadline now less than a day or two away, teams are starting to pull the trigger on some roster changing moves …. let's recap the moves that took place over all star weekend
New Orleans trades away Tyson Chandler for Joe Smith, Chris Wilcox, the rights to Devon Hardin
So, okay, it's not a HUGE trade, but it's big enough anyway. So much for the Crescent City Connection …. ROFLMAO.
Say Hornets fans ….
"What little faith I did have that the Hornets could compete for a championship this season? It’s dead and gone."
"I hate this with a passion. CP is gonna be mad. D West said in the paper today that he’d be mad too if they traded Tyson. So, to sum up, you pissed off your two best players. Way to go, cheapskates."
Way to speak for professional NBA players, dude.
Boston Celtics trade Sam Cassell to Sacramento for a conditional 2nd Round pick in 2015
I know about mortgaging your future … but c'mon, 2015? Was Sam really THAT bad a teammate that you'll trade him for nothing more than a draft pick in 6 years?!?!?
Toronto trades Jermaine O'Neal & Jamario Moon to Miami Heat for Shawn Marion & Marcus Banks
This was no surprise to me. I have been critical of the Jermaine O'Neal move since I found out last year. And I have been a hater since. It's not that JO is a bad player per se, though I have little respect for him as I feel he is a fragile player with an oversized ego and undersized game, but the move just didn't FIT with the Raps. They traded away a solid C and a good PG for a weak willed, ball hogging, underachieving center who will never meet his "potential"
I'm glad he's gone. But I am very sad to see Moon go. Moon was an athletic, good rebounding Forward who brought electricity to a team that needed it. Moon was able to guard multiple positions and generate excitement with his air walking dunks.
People will say that we get that in Marion. But he's 32 now. I highly doubt we can get the same type of performance out of him on a nightly basis. Not to mention the fact that he's been labeled as a cancer in the locker room before. He'll be able to play with Bosh, sure. But will be be able to play WITH Bosh?
Marcus Banks? Pass, thanks.
I'm not sure that the Raps are better off for this trade either. It gives them more versatility, sure. But what happens when Marion becomes a free agent next summer? Colangelo would be stupid to offer or pay more than the mid level exception – $5 mil per – (IF THAT) to a 33 year old Marion.
Maybe it frees up cap space to re sign Bosh in 2010? Regardless, the Marion Era tips off this week. They MAY make the playoffs, but it'll be a silent first round exit. I have spoken.
Vince Carter on the block
"Carter to Portland for Raef LaFrentz and his expiring contract along with Travis Outlaw and Sergio Rodriguez."
"Carter to the Rockets for Tracy McGrady"
Looks like Vince is on his way out. I hear that San Antonio is still interested in him …. don't do it, RC! Don't do it!
McGrady says his season is over, that he needs microfracture surgery
I would not be surprised to see T-Mac be shipped out this year as his Mr. Glass persona is likely taking a toll on the Rockets Organization. Will he play? Will he not? Sorry T-Mac, you know I love you, but even I am getting tired, bored and apathetic to your daily injury updates …
Unconfirmed Reports say that The Spurs are interested in Rasheed Wallace …
Seeing the Pistons warm up in San Antone would be so so so so sweet!
Baron Davis rejected by Dallas – NO TRADE!
Crazy. This means that there IS someone out there who Mark Cuban will not pay for!
Another Dumbass who's career won't last – Sean Williams
Way to disprove the theory that NBA players are spoiled punks ….
Shane Battier – The Best "No Talent" Player the NBA has …
Proof that you don't need to fly to be a valuable piece of the puzzle.
Jason Richardson charged with Reckless Driving
"Mr. Richardson was pulled over for driving 90MPH in a 35MPH Zone with his unrestrained 3 year old son in the back seat."
I'm sorry but I'm gonna take off my PC hat and go at him ….
What a fucking moron. Driving 50 Miles Per Hour over the limit is one thing. To do so with your kid in the back seat is another. But to have his kid there with NO seat belt on is just fucking stupid.
This is, of course, AFTER he was arrested for a DUI just a few weeks ago. His apology a few days ago appears to be a canned PR response. He may have been suspended 1 game … but that's not enough …. not at this point. Richardson needs to have the wrath of God put into him …
And in the end, he apologizes to everyone around him except his son ….
Zach Randolph WILL be suspended after punching Louis Amundson
Better video of the incident here
Another idiot who needs to be tasered ….. how do these people manage to keep their jobs?!?!? If I did that, I'd be arrested for assault, blacklisted from my industry and fired from my job …
Speaking of Phoenix, very quietly, Terry Porter steps down as head coach of the Phoenix Suns. This after only 6 months of actual basketball action. Some reports say that he was fired, others say that he stepped down. But all point to an unhappy Steve Nash as one of the main reasons the change happened ….
It's too bad, really. I kind of liked him.
Anyway, I don't know if anyone out there noticed, but Allen Iverson cut off his corn rows
It was weird seeing him at the All Star Game without his signature hair …. harkens back to the days of MJ and that one crossover …
-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-
And a good final note for all the Peggers out there ….
Basketball movie to be shot in Winnipeg
So if y'all wanna enter, go to this site …. www.sportsarc.net.
I'm putting in my application later today.

If there was ONE word I had to pick to describe the 2009 NBA All-Star Weekend Festivities, that word would have to be: FAKE.
If I had to pick a second word, it would have to be: DISAPPOINTING.
I wasn't 100% positive about these particular words, so I had to wait til after the All-Star Game on Sunday to make sure. But yes, after much deliberation – and save for a few mildly amusing moments – I'd have to say ….. Fake and disappointing.
So what is Fake?
Fake is when Shaq says that the beef with Kobe was "marketing". Fake is when Kobe and Shaq hug and shake hands and laugh like nothing ever happened. Fake is a forced "Kobe/Shaq Reunion" that MYSTERIOUSLY ends up with both Shaq AND Kobe winning All-Star Game MVP Honours. I mean, what am I? Stupid? I'm not so blind that I don't see a fix there ….
Fake is when the NBA "Honours" Bill Russell with a birthday cake even though David Stern was not there. Fake is the adulation given to Bill Russell while Dr. J was ruthlessly mocked by Cheryl Miller at last year's ASG. Fake is when the ASG starters get 90% of playing time while a few of the all stars request to not play very much. (It's supposed to be a privilege, an honour to be selected and a showcase of talent!)
Fake is when Nate Robinson wins the dunk contest. Really? After jumping off some guy's back? LAME! Fake is the Green Knicks Uniform – c'mon … Lex Luthor? Kryptonite? Who came up with that terrible idea? Kenny Smith or Reggie Miller? Just awful.
Fake is a H-O-R-S-E competition that consists of 3 pointers for the overall win. No trick shots. Just plain old 3s. Weak.
What is Disappointing?
Disappointing is when Dwight Howard recycles the Superman costume from last year – c'mon. Isn't a 12 foot dunk impressive enough without the need for a gimmick? Disappointing is when Gerald Green, Andre Iguodala and other elite jumpers don't take part in the dunk contest. Disappointing is when the best the NBA can do for dunk contest competitors is Rudy Fernandez and JR Smith. No offense to Smith, but he's not on the same level as Howard and Robinson.
Disappointing is seeing Daequan Cook win the 3 point shooting contest because his opponent goes ice cold and shoots 7 for 25 in the final round. For Shame Rashard Lewis. For Shame.
Disappointing is when Detroit Team wins the Haier Shooting Stars competition with a FAT Bill Laimbeer in it, while Phoenix goes ICE COLD on the final shot (about 55 seconds) with Barbosa and Thunder Dan Majerle in it ….
Overall, I'd say that I enjoyed the Celebrity Game more than anything else. At least there I could see Former NBA Players like Dominique Wilkins, Dan Majerle and Rick Fox as well as stars like Terrell Owens, Donald Faison, Chris Tucker, Michael Rappaport, James Denton and The Harlem Globetrotters.
My FAVE parts of that game was watching Jon Barry get punked by Special K by the fake water in a bucket skit and the cool Georgia Brown Halftime Show. It was PRICELESS!
I was very unimpressed with the All Star Game and the festivities overall by the NBA this year… maybe next year will be better. Call me jaded …. I suppose maybe I just expected more of the magic that we've gotten the last couple of years.

Bill Simmons hates Kobe Bryant?
layups vs. jumpers
Laker fan proves me right – Bron is better.
Awesome articles that show how the divide that fans create between each other when objectivity is lost due to overzealous, blind passion for a player and not the game.
I'm not even gonna front. I hate Kobe. But my hate has less to do with his game and more to do with his ego, personality and attitude. He's a poor example for young kids to emulate.
With Jordan, I hated him as a player ONLY because he crushed my Suns, Rockets, Spurs, Knicks. It was just business. With Kobe, he represents everything that I consider to be negative with society.
And no amount of "NBA Cares" commericals will change that.
He's a great player, but a lousy human being.

Vlad the Rad talks smack about the Lakers, Gets win for new team
"Phil's system, great as it is, doesn't give a role player much opportunity," Radmanovic said. "For Kobe Bryant, it's great. For Pau Gasol, it's great. But role players don't do much.''
Welcome to the Laker Hater Bandwagon, Vlad. There's plenty of room for another one.
Amare Stoudemire may be on the block, but Bulls fans don't want him.
How far his star has fallen as well. Learn the lesson, kids: No one likes a ball hog.
Hornets walking wounded, lose to Grizzlies
Paul is out with a groin injury, West is out with a suspension for a flagrant foul and Chandler has been a f***ing p***y all year. Anyone wanna keep spounting off about how the Hornets are "gonna contend for a title and are better than the Spurs"?
Sasha Pavlovic sidelined with an ankle sprain
…. too bad, cuz he had JUST started to get minutes again …
Jason Terry fractures hand, gets surgery
Still think you need no changes, Mr. Howard? How about if it means you won't make the playoffs?
Al Jefferson out for season with torn ACL
Aside from the real impact this injury has on the Wolves, it also has major implications for at least ONE fantasy owner.
Charles Barkley back on TNT after all star game
I noticed this a few times this year – that Chris Webber had replaced Barkley on the NBA show with Ernie and Kenny. I dislike Web's personality, even though I admire his overall person.
SoI started to ask myself "Where's Charles?" and then I read that he had been pulled over for a DUI in AZ over New Year's with TWICE the legal limit of alcohol in his blood! He took a voluntary leave of absence (supposedly) after the story went global and he's been daeling with legal issues since.
~shrug~
If he apologizes, then no harm no foul. We all make mistakes. Own it, Chuck and get back in the studio! That NBA show is tanking without you!
Elton Brand done for year, out another 6 months
Great investment by the Sixers. And not just the time missed, but when brand played, they lost more than they won.
Charlotte and Indiana talking trade
The plot thickens …..
2 BIG items of news – Chris Bosh sprains his knee and Mo Williams finally gets his all-star spot
Good for Mo, bad for the Raps. Can you say "throwing in the towel for the year"?
Not saying that Bosh is quitting. Far from it, I respect the man and his ferocity. But the Raps suck this year and this injury over an extended period of time will do nothing but make the raps go on early off season.
Maybe those trade rumours aren't just rumours after all …. DON'T GO, BOSH! I NEED YOU!

Andrea Bargnani punks Reggie Evans.
I guess Mr. Crotch Grabber was unable to get a firm grasp of Il Mago's fuzzy peaches as he drove to the net …..
Reminds me of Tony Kaufman
Andrew Bogut has a stress fracture in his back – out for 8 weeks
I CANNOT even imagine the pain that this must cause him. I had herniated discs and so, knowing how excruciatingly painful that was, I can sympathize with Mr. Bogut. Wishes for a speedy recovery.
Players who think they are better than they actually are
Kendrick Perkins tops the list, huh? I can say he is a douchebag, so I agree with this. But where's guys like Isiah Rider, or Tyson Chandler?
Who do you think has an unnecessarily big ego in the NBA?
Jason Kapono eyes a 3 point shootout THREE PEAT!
NOW I am going to watch the All-Star festivities …. okay, I was always going to watch it, but with Raps ace shooter Kapono in the mix again, I will be rooting so hard for him ….. (insert breastfeeding joke here)
Carmelo Anthony: I'm the best SF in the West
Ron Artest, Josh Howard and Stephen Jackson may have something to say about this ….
Personally, I think he's overrated. He should be in that list that Perkins was in ….
Jamal Crawford vs. Corey Maggette – BEEF!
Says Crawford to Magette: "contribute something other than scoring"
That's like a blind man making fun of another blind man ….
Elton Brand – Shoudler surgery ends season
I hope the Sixers are happy with paying him like $85 Million. This was a great investment so far.
Mighty Mouse coaching in Memphis
He joins the coaching staff NO DOUBT to better develop the young PG talent that they have stashed away. Conley, Mayo Lowry and even Marko Jaric would do well to learn from a steady and professional PG.
Keith Bogans Traded for Tyronne Lue
This is Tyronne Lue's second stint with the Magic. I've always liked him and hope he can be successful for the Magic. Drill those threes, Lue!
The Steve Francis effect: 5 NBA Superstars who fell off
This article is worth reading almost exclusively for the Shawn Kemp highlights …. ~sigh~ … it's such a shame how he got fat ….
LeBron James: 52 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists
Kobe, 61 points is good …. but have a seat at the back. The front is now for LeBron James.
Amare Stoudemire – On The Trading Block!?!?!?
looks like it … it will be C-R-A-Z-Y if Phoenix gets rid of STAT ….. think about it. You'd be trading away a potential Hall of Famer for a guy who's best days were behind him 2 years ago …. this makes no sense …..

So much to talk about right now ….
So Kendrick Perkins was fined $10,000 for his flagrant foul on Jason Maxiell in last week's Pistons/Celtics game. I say he should have gotten more money and more time as a penalty. This guy is taking the same stupid pills that KG is taking and is turning into an even bigger douchebag than KG and Pierce combined.
I have a slogan ready for him: Kendrick Perkins – Same shitty attitude, 1/4 of the talent.
Kobe Bryant explodes for 61 at MSG
While everyone is chanting MVP and praising his selfish ass, I'm on the same boat as the SI.com writer. It's an ominous sign for Laker fans ….. He passes up open looks to teammates and hogs the ball for … what?
I think the regular season race is gonna get interesting with the Spurs starting to hit their strides.
And on the same subject, Andrew Bynum tears an MCL and is now out for 8-12 weeks. The cause? An accidental collision with one Kobe Bryant …. what really pissed me off is that, instead of showing concern for his player and feeling badly for (even if unintentional) injuring his player, instead looks irritated and bothered by the fact that Bynum is hurt. Just another reason why Kobe Bryant is the Antichrist.
Are their playoff hopes dashed? No, not at all. But now they are mortal and any good team can take them out.
Shaquille O'Neal says his beef with Kobe was "All Marketing". Sure, whatever Shaq. And I'm a magical Leprechaun who grants wishes to people.
Jameer Nelson injured
A torn labrum almost certainly means surgery which will esentially end his season short. This wouldn't be a big deal if he wasn't playing well. But he is playing great and is one of the main reasons they are doing so good right now. With Anthony Johnson as the ONLY other PG on the roster, I think it's time for Magic fans to start panicking.
I've always said that the Hornets are one Chris Paul ankle sprain from irrelevance. Well, how about a groin strain, instead? I saw this game live last night and I have to say that it was S-A-D watching the Hornets struggle up and down the court without Paul.
They aren't as good this year as they were last year, either. So this injury could really hurt them in the long term if Paul is unable to make it back in a few days ….
Gregg Poppovich: "We're the NBA's worst nightmare"
He was talking about marketablility and viewership related. But given Nelson and Bynum's Injury, I'd say it's also a telling comment about their surging team and their potential championship hopes.
Go Spurs Go!

Stephen A. Smith Video
An ESPN interview brought here via the Dime Magazine website ….. I've been hearing a TON about Chris Bosh wanting to be traded ….. this is proof of the rumours ….
The rumours ONLY.
I don't know that he does or does not wanna leave. I think all it is is that he wants to win and the Raps took a step backward in the acquisition of O'Neal and the departure of TJ Ford. I was very critical of those moves back in the summer and it looks like I was right all along.
I don't think Bosh REALLY wants to leave, but he simply does not wanna keep playing for a losing franchise, especially one that shows promise one year and gets dismantled the next.
Let's be frank, here …. Chris Bosh leaving would decimate the Raptors.
It would.
More so than when Carter took his pacifier and went to Jersey. Reason?
There's no one to take the "Franchise Player" crown and run with it. Who are they gonna trust the franchise to? Andrea Bargnani? Please. That kid can play, but he's not a franchise player.
Calderon? He's an injury away from irrelevance, and as we've seen this year, he was a great 6th man but an average starter.
Moon? No. Kapono? No. ….
When Carter left, the franchise was already being spoken of as "Chris Bosh's team in the future.. Right now, there's no heir apparent.
DON'T LEAVE, CHRIS! WE NEED YOU!
