From a neutral basketball standpoint, I have to say that it was almost a foregone conclusion that he would stay in LA. He had too much to lose, legacy wise, if he left. I think he thinks he’s going into the Hall of Fame if he’s able to defend the crown … but I’d say he’s lucky if he gets there. He’s definitely not Top 50. MAYBE Top 100 ….. maybe. Regardless, it makes the Lakers more stable … I don’t know if they are better now that they have Artest …. I wonder what kind of crazy BS he’s gonna pull this year ….
Now, from a Laker Hater perspectiev, this pisses me off. He toys with other teams like Portland and Miami for the better part of 2 weeks and all for more money? This is a jackass move and he deserves to get his ass smacked around for that. And Jerry Buss is an idiot for playing with the guy like this. The dude practically MADE your team win a chip this last year and what do you do? You try to lowball him? Jerry Buss and Mitch Kupchak are two of a kind.
Let’s see how Lamar and Artest take coming off the bench …. I mean, it’s a foregone conclusion that Odom is the 6th man right now. Artest might come in and be a starter …. but when Artest gets suspended for drunk driving in LA on Christmas or something, Lamar will get a taste of starting and then the fireworks start up …
Sporting News released today a list of the 50 greatest coaches of all time in any sport.
Phil Jackson was there, which was expected. He was ranked #4 on that list ABOVE Red Auerbach, which was kind of bizarre …. but I was pleased to see a number of other NBA faces on that list …
#1 – John Wooden – Just thought I would clarify who was #1 on the list.
#6 – Red Auerbach
#19 – Mike Krzyzewski – Okay, so coach K is not an NBA coach, but he DID coach the Redeem Team and has influenced Pros and Preps greatly in the last 15 years or so. He’s got books that every serious baller has … I’d say it’s noteworthy.
#30 – Pat Riley
#45 – Chuck Daly
#49 – Gregg Popovich
Sadly, Coach Carter didn’t make the list. I’m sure Sam Jackson is tired of all these mutha*****ng coaches in these mutha*****ng lists!

Fred Newman is no joke. The man is a basketball machine. One of his quotes is: “Anything less than 75% from the free throw line for a Pro Basketball player is BAD.”
He holds a ton of world records inlcuding:
209 consecutive 3 pointers made (video above)
made 2,034 of 2,243 free throws in ONE Hour!
88 consecutive free throws while blindfolded
In 1990, he shot 20,371 free throws in 24 hours, which was a record that stood until 2000.
shot over 13,000 free throws and made 98% in 24 hours
So I went to play ball last night. Nothing out of the ordinary except that there were like 100 people in the gym playing – of course, I’m exaggerating. The number was about 20, but it FELT like 100.
At the end of the night, we sat around and chatted, as we often do …. fights, jokes, rules … just talking.
EVENTUALLY, the conversation got on about World Records and Basketball. “What is the World’s Longest Basketball Game?”
Well, I had originally thought it was about 24 hours.
But I checked my sources today and found that, in 2004, that record was30 hours, 12 minutes.
In 2008, the record was shattered TWICE in one month! Once by some boys in the UK that did it for 72 hours in the first week of August and then a week or so later, that record was shattered to 80 hours by a group of guys in Romania. The record features two teams of 12 guys and a final score of 5040 to 5003. The REASON behind the record? To promote basketball in Romania. This Record was acknowledged by the World Records Academy.
The GUINESS World Record for Longest Basketball Game, however, goes to a group of players from Heartland Lutheran High School in New England, who set the Guiness Record on July 2008 by playing for 77 Hours, 12 Minutes with a group of players from past and present, much like what we were talking of doing.
Funny side note, in the comments section of the YouTube video below the guys form Romania drop in to spoil the show for the Lutheran cats and call them out on their semi-world record. VERY funny to read.
So then we started talking about what it would be like to BREAK that record and the motivation we would need to do it. I mean, 80 hours is a LONG time – Three and a half days!
We talked of sponsorships, sleep, game speed, what it would be like afterwards … everything.
At the end of the night, some of us were thinking that this was something we actually were serious about tackling!
Imagine Husky Basketball and Shaka Dula in the record books!
Oh, I know that records like that are broken more often than not, and I know that eventually, our record would be broken one day too. But imagine having your names in a book with something ALL your own ….
This is a straight up trade between Charlotte and New Orleans. No other monies, players, draft picks are involved.
This is a crazy move because it does NOTHING for either team!
Chandler is a one dimensional center who NEEDS a good PG to feed him Alley Oops to score and there is currently no one like that in Charlotte for him.
Okafor is an underachiever who’s effort and conditioning are suspect. How does he expect to keep up with the up tempo basketball style that is run in New Orleans?
One of the things that I have learned playing basketball over the last 15 years is that respect can often be won and lost depending on how you play the game.
When I first started playing, I was very angry and used basketball as an emotional outlet. Because basketball was how I expressed myself, I often found myself having great days and really bad days depending on how I felt. When I felt good, I was scoring, playing, laughing and smiling. When I felt bad, I elbowed, swore lots and got into a LOT of fights – both with members of my own team as well as the opponents I’d play. I got a lot of Technical Fouls and got tossed out of a LOT of games for fighting or dirty plays.
The longer I played and the older and more knowledgeable I got about the game, the more I realized how basketball was an arena that could be used to discover yourself and that it was also a place where respect was won and lost – both from opponents and from teammates.
It took a LONG time before I was able to level off and maintain a Tim Duncan like attitude towards the game. And even now I find that I can get back into the fights and poor sportsmanship, if I don’t make a conscious effort to rise above it. It’s an every day thing.
I had forgotten about the way that respect is lost on the basketball court. Hadn’t thought about it for the LONGEST time until this year when Tony Kaufman, a player from one of our Men’s League division teams (Fort Garry) reminded us. His clutching and grabbing of ankles and heels as he was down reminded ALL of my teammates that there are certain lines that must not be crossed in the arena of sports, no matter WHAT is at stake.
This was further reinforced at this year’s 3 on 3, when a certain player‘s cowardly antics nearly ruined a great weekend. Everything from the whining on the basketball court to the snitching, to the hiding, to the request for police, officials and even HIS OWN MOTHER for “protection” smacked of an immature man with a poor understanding of sports and how to conduct yourself on the field of play.
There is an unspoken code of ethics and honour that must be adhered to not just in the sport of basketball but also in manhood!
Breaking this unspoken code opens the violator to being tagged with many unflattering names and having respect lost for a LONG TIME.
So what can a player do to prevent being labelled as a poor sport, snitch, dirty, loser or bitch? Well, here are some things that should be avoided ….
1. Trying to intentionally hurt an opponent on the field of play. This varies in severity. An elbow to the stomach is all good, but taking out a player’s legs while in midair or trying to trip them as they go across the lane can mean a very significant injury with long term ramifications.
This isCRIMINAL for Tony Kaufmanas he is a DOCTORand should KNOW BETTER than going against the Hippocratic Oath that he vowed to live by!
2 Snitching about something you have no business getting involved in, ESPECIALLY if it does not hurt anyone’s health or bottom line.
This is made even more sinister when your team sucks and you don’t even make the damn playoffs!
3. Whine and complain on the basketball court when things don’t go your way. This is even worse when the whining turns into full fledged yelling and even WORSE when it is directed at your own teammates, spectators or officials.
4. Quitting when you are getting thumped in a game. You’re willing to give the lumps, so take them when they come to you! This is worse when the individual quitting has kids – nice message to give your children!
5. Racial, Sexist or Religious slurs directed at anyone. Whether spoken for everyone to hear or uttered under your breath, those things have absolutely nothingto do with the sport and make the individual look like an ignorant bigot.
6. Making things up about opponents to “get back” at them. This is made even worse when the lie involves something personal or racist. Grow up and speak the truth!
7. Running and hiding after making a mistake. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes, but hiding behind rules, police, administrators or parents after the initial mistake points to cowardice! Take your lumps if they are coming and fess up to your screw up!
8. Anything involving you and an opponents testicles (aka – nut shots). Sorry, but NOTHING … NOTHING… makes a shot to the twig and berries acceptable. Prepare for retaliation if you aim for the ol’ fuzzy dice and antenna.
Those are the biggest ones that I can think of, but I am sure that there are many more and I encourage readers to submit additional rules of manhood / sports that should not be broken.

Part of me respects the fact that he is able to show his emotions like this.
Yet another part of me wonders WHY he would choose to show this on webcam to the world.
With speculation running rampant that he’s not all there, things like this make me question what he hopes to accomplish with the various actions he takes.
I WANT to like Steph. I really do. But he makes it really hard.
Not that this is a surprise now that they have a new GM who is trying to transform the team in his own image but the guys they are moving are people they JUST acquired in trades!
To Minnesota: Chucky Atkins, Damien Wilkins
To Oklahoma City: Etan Thomas, 2 second round picks in 2010
Now I will say this about the move: It was smart. In Chucky Atkins they get a veteran PG who knows how to conduct himself on and off the court as well as a guy who knows how to get the job done and is willing to teach the young Minnesota PGs a thing or two about being a Pro.
Man, The Wolves will be completely different by the time the new season starts!
Dwyane Wade is now out in LA trying to woo Lamar Odom away from the Lakers in person with Pat Riley meeting with him face to face this week as well to discuss possibilities for a contract.
Lamar’s games in negotiating is going to leave ONE team incredibly pissed if he signs with the other. I sure hope he goes to Miami. He’d go well there. Plus I’d like him way more. lol.
Not bad for a Canadian kid … $11 Mil per year …. and then he’ll go to the HoF as soon as the mandatory wait is up. Glad he chose to stay in AZ. He’d look so weird in any other uniform … really.
1 year, $4.5 Million guaranteed with incentives that might push his payday to over $5 Million … I think we’ll see a much more focused and productive Gooden this coming season.
ESPN is saying that Gooden is almost guaranteed the starting job over Dampier …. that’s gotta suck for Dampier …. but then again, he kinda sucks …
Gooden certainly didn’t produce for Popp, but maybe he’ll find his groove in Big D.
I kinda like this move. Steve Blake may be a drop dead shooter, but he is not a good facilitator for his team. Not quite the caliber that Miller is. Miller is the shit! Man, the guy was putting up ridiculous numbers last year (16/4/6 per) and I look for those numbers to improve as his scoring load is slightly reduced with machines like Roy, Oden, Aldridge … man, just thinking about the Fantasy implications makes me shiver!
I think this move makes the Sixers stronger in the West, although they are still a consistent Center and Small Forward away from serious contention.
This would be a good move for the Knicks and would definitely give Sessions a chance to shine as either a backup PG or a spot starter, what with Chris Duhon’s consistent Mr. Glas impersonation.
Never thought I would care so much about Nesterovic or the fact that he is back. But I did love Nesterovic and considered it a travesty that he was dealt. I am glad he is back!
I very much like this quote because it speaks a truth that we do not acknowledge very often.
The way that people interact on the court, field and pitch reflects, more often than not, the way that we interact with others in real life. So if an individual tends to lean towards unsportsmanlike interactions, petty squabbling and selfish play, I’d say that it very much reflects what kind of life they tend to lead outside the arena of sports.
The Joker, in The Dark Knight, has a GREAT quote that kind of brought me to this particular spot for QOTW this week:
“Do you want to know why I use a knife? ….. Guns are too quick. You can’t savor all the… little … emotions. See, in their last moments, people show you who they really are …. So, in a way, I know your friends better than you ever did. Would you like to know which of them were cowards?”
This quote intrigued me for the longest time because I wondered what seeing people’s true selves was like. That is, I wondered that until the 3 on 3 when I got to see another Human Being’s TRUE personality after one of the games.
The ensuing actions, from the initial finger pointing, to the monitoring over our shoulders and the request for additional supervision during our game from police, event organizers and referees when confronted on his actions REALLY left me wondering how no one else in his immediate circle of friends and family could see what poor qualities this individual possessed.
Then I thought about that for a while and figured that maybe it has less to do with the life he leads outside the field of play and more to do with how his true qualities come out in a competitive game of basketball.

I have uploaded the FIRST of TWO videos from our 3 on 3 weekend for posterity.
This game took place on Saturday July 18, 2009 at 10:00am. Playing for Domino Effect in the video are Stephen Tackie, Kobe Amoah-Gyampoh, Uly Balat, Ricardo Martinez and Evan Cox.
Domino Effect won the game 13-7 by way of time lapse.

Someone somewhere finally leaked the video that made the rounds across the world without ever getting a second of airtime!
Watch LeBron get dunked on by Jordan Crawford at long last!
The video was played on Ebaum’s World at first yesterday, but has since gone to Sports Illustrated for national exposure of both the dunk and the website that scooped the video.
Special thanks to Alan Mingaracal who served me the juicy link earlier today.
For the record, it was a nice dunk, but not what I expected (it didn’t warrant having the footage confiscated) and definitely does not hurt LeBron’s image more than the scandal of censorship did.
Wikipedia defines “Sore Loser” as: One who doesn’t take failure well, especially one who complains or contests it.
I define it as the douchebag you see above.
And that, folks. Is the entirety of this post.
Well, not quite. Let’s look over the definition and see if we can come to a consensus of the ATTRIBUTES that are displayed by a sore loser …
One who does not take failure well – Well I think that, to some extent, we’re ALL sore losers. We’re raised in a society where the winners are praised and rewarded while the losers are shunned and ridiculed. It’s like that for every sport from Hockey to Cricket. And Basketball is no different.
But there are different ways to show your displeasure. You can take out your frustrations on yourself, your own team, the officials or the other team.
Taking it out on the other team is the most common example of a Sore Loser. Things like starting fights, trying to intentionally injure someone and foul laguage including racial slurs are all “classic” examples of poor sportsmanship and sore losers in general.
But what about a more passive aggressive approach to losing? Is that possible?
Is it possible to hide while simultaneously attacking someone superiority in a sport?
I’d say it is 100% possible as I have witnessed it with my own two eyes …
While playing the games this weekend (two teams, same division) one of the players from the other team (Enuff Said) pointed me out to the tournament officials and had me removed from my second team – Domino Effect.
Among the things this Fat Piece of Shit was saying was that I somehow managed to do enter these two teams into the same division ON PURPOSE. Despite the fact that I had registered these 2 teams online about 3-4 weeks apart.
Then he says that I am switching the score sheets and writing down the wrong information for the sake of improving the records. Well, first of all, the refs had the score sheets, not me. And BOTH my teams went undefeated anyway, so I fail to see how switching a 3-0 record for another 3-0 record is wrong. And in the end, the scorekeeper’s tent had all the scoresheets and they all accurately reflected the schedules we were given!
Then in the end, the no talent ass clown sat around and tried to debate RULES with me by saying that my team was 5 minutes late and that it counted as a forfeit DESPITE the fact that the rules also CLEARLY state that a team has 10 minutes of buffer time to make it to the game!
I told the idiot to shut the hell up and he should learn the rules before spouting at the mouth about something he had no idea what the hell he was talking about.
So why did this guy have his lace panties in a bunch rammed up his tailpipe?
Cuz he is a no talent hack, that’s why!
Here is a guy who doesn’t know how to play and who does not understand two very basic principles of sport:
1) There is ALWAYS someone better than you. Always.
2) You can’t win every time
So what does he do when things don’t go his way? Well, he becomes passive aggressive and tries to sabotage his opponents by spouting rules and regulations!
… , especially one who complains or contests it.
Forget talking things out like adults and trying to connect as human beings! That would be too hard and it would involve revealing your true feelings, emotions and RISK being told that you are being a sore loser!
No, he hides behind officials and rule books because he is a coward and cannot fight his own fights! He hides behind other people because it is easier to make THEM the bad guys instead of himself!
And in his attempt at “getting even” he nearly ruins what was, in the end, the greatest weekend of all time for about 15 people!
And his team didn’t even make the playoffs! They lost ALL 4 games – badly, I might add – and went home without even making the playoffs! So what was he fighting for again?
It couldn’t be a championship or a playoff spot … there couldn’t POSSIBLY be a principle behind his actions because I followed all rules and regulations to the best of my own abilities – hell, I was given the green light to play by the people AT the desk when I registered my teams on the Friday! …
~sigh~
The WORST part is that he didn’t say anything to the rest of his team about it and they bore the brunt of his idiocy! I spoke with them afterwards and they were apologetic for the dude’s childish actions, and they told me that they didn’t even know that he did that until after he had done it! I actually felt genuinely bad for his teammates. I’ve played with them before at other playgrounds and at previous tournaments. Nice guys, all of them. But I would HATE to be associated with a guy like that.
So there you have it, folks. The definition of a SORE LOSER – complete with matching picture!
On the streets, we’d also call him a snitch. A snitch with a capital B! And we all know what happens to snitches ….
This means that the Cavs have now signed TWO former Raptor players in the past month. Anthony Parker and Jamario moon will team up with Shaq and the usual characters in Cleveland to try to win a chip this year. I am happy for him. I liked him in T-Dot and I like him in Cleveland too, I think this will be a good fit for him.
I guess maybe all the chants, blog posts and negative press about him being a gigantic douchebag might have not gone on deaf ears as he is trying to rebuild his image with another reality TV Show this year. Playing other athletes at their own sports seems ridiculous when you think about people like Oscar De La Hoya, Michael Phelps and Serena Williams. But then the kicker is that they’ll have handicaps that might tip the scales in O’Neal’s advantage.
Lame.
And even if the show turns out to be GOOD, he’ll still be a douchebag.
Where there was once a no brainer decision of LA Lakers, there are now TWO teams vying for his services as Miami has now jumped into the race with a serious bid for the crafty power forward.
I want to see him leave LA. I think it would be great for his career to go and make the Heat playoff contenders again. Plus it would be a kick in the nads of all Laker faithful.
Especially after the contributions he has made to their championship run and the way they have cheapskated him this off season.
He’s gotten $822,500 in debt with a casino and had to post $135,000 bail after being arrested for 4 counts of writing bad cheques. Each count carries between 1 – 4 years in prison.
After winning a chip, getting held up at gun point and being arrested for a DUI, you’d figure he has enough sense to stay out of trouble ….. but you’d figure wrong, I guess.
Andrew Bynum (LAL)
Mehmet Okur (Utah)
Greg Oden (Por)
Andris Biedrins (GS)
Al Jefferson (Minn)
Tyson Chandler (NO)
Chris Kaman (LAC)
Marcus Camby (LAC)
Nick Collison (OKC)
So Shaq might be right – he might be the Last Center Left ….
This is a tough thing for Converse to recover from. They were marketing the hell out of DWade and this leaves them without a poster boy. I feel badly for them.
This is a fun look at the lives that some of the NBA cats lead during the offseason. It’s an interesting thing to see all those people crammed around to watch Bosh and Nash and others just play a game for fun.
It’s a sad thing to watch a player keep going when every ounce of fiber in the universe is telling him to hang em up. I feel bad for Wallace. But if he handled his finances right, he’s set for life no matter what he does.
They were gonna get married, go to London to see Michael Jackson …. now the headlines are calling this a Slam Dump!
Dude did it through e-mail!
E-MAIL!
That’s sad and cold, even for me. But it is still kinda funny.
But he’s not a villain. He gave her a six figure settlement to help her get through the transition. That’s nice. I mean, he didn’t owe her anything.
And now allegations are surfacing that he’s playing for the other team …. man, I betcha that’s a rumour started by the bride to be. Not that I’d know, but it’s definitely something a pissed off woman would do to get back at the guy who dumped her at the altar. People are saying that cuz she’s hot and he didn’t marry her.
But remember, folks. Beauty is only skin deep. She might have had the soul of a hag.
And remember that marriage is supposed to be a forever thing, right? You don’t go through with it unless you are 100% sure.
This is the kind of thing that chaps my ass. I’m blogging about this later as it also pertains to the 3 on 3 tournament this past weekend. But needless to say, my condolences to Taurasi on her poor decision and its repercussions.
I don’t know, really, how some people can be so despicably evil.
ONE individual nearly ruined what was, in the end, one of the greatest weekends of ALL time.
This weekend deserves more than 1 post and so, I have decided that I will blog about this particular weekend and all its moments, for as long as I need to. I have a ton of pictures to show off as well plenty of video footage that I intend on uploading to my youtube account as soon as I have the time.
Some of the things we will discuss are as follows:
1 - The definition of a BITCH in the sports world. This also means discussion on what the term “bush league” refers to.
2 – What constitutes a sore loser
3 – The things that lead to a loss of respect on the basketball court
4 – How bureaucracy is a way for people to make something human completely inhuman
5 – How bureaucracy and “rule whoring” is the hiding place of cowards
6 – What the 3 on 3 weekend means to a real baller
7 – A recap of the games that took place including side conversations, observations and commentary on some of the opposition. This might actually be 4 additional posts.
8 – What are some of the unwritten rules of manhood
Let me start it ALL off by giving a big congratulations to Lost Oneson a hard fought title.
And congratulations to Domino Effect on a valiant effort in search of an upset.
And a warning to all those who read beyond this post for the next 7 days: I am going to use some very offensive language and say some very harsh things about a few people; and deservedly so. So if you are offended by offensive language, please feel free to surf on to another page for the next 7 days.
And for the record: This was the greatest weekend ever.
It is 11:15pm as I write this and our 3 on 3 tournament starts tomorrow and I am about 8 hours away from the experience that I look forward to all year long.
I can hardly wait!
I spent the entire afternoon running around trying to get errands done (like picking up the jerseys, pictured above) and I was finally able to rest at about 10:45pm. So I decided to blog about this experience.
I spent the better part of the evening ironing on numbers onto our finished jerseys for a more personalized look with Nathan. It was a bit ….. irritating ….. but the jerseys look sick.
Okay, so let’s get down to the nitty gritty ….
I am playing on two teams this year.
The first is my Forever Team – Lost Ones
The second is my Old School Team – The Domino Effect
I have played in this 3 on 3 tournament since 1995 and have NEVER had a situation where my one team plays the other …. until this year.
For the first time EVER, my 2 teams have to face off in the same division!
When I saw the schedule, my heart sank at first. It was tough to see that ONE of my teams would not get to win it all. But after a bit, it turned to a hilarious situation for me.
What do I do? Who do I cheer for? Who do I strategize with? I simply can’t pick.
So I am gonna sit on the sidelines and videotape and photograph the madness, of course!
I can’t betray one team over the other, no matter what they might say.
But there are only 5 teams in our division, which means I have a 40% chance of getting A medal this year (gold or silver), which is pretty cool …. imagine if I won both first AND second place …. lol. That would be a first for me too!
Our first game is at 9:00am … for both teams! One plays at Court 23 and the other plays at Court 24 …. lol.
Then I play again at 10:00am, then both teams play at 11 and then I have a game at 2:30pm.
Then on Sunday, I have to play myself! And after that …. playoffs!
I think this weekend is gonna be fun …. how can it NOT be?
Out all day playing basketball, hanging out with friends and family, lounging in the sun …. how can this possibly go wrong? ~knocks on wood~
Imagine my surprise to come in and see only one major headline to make my brain work this morning …. Oh, there was a couple of other ones, like Blake Griffin going off for 27 and 12 rebounds in his summer league debut, but I didn’t think that warranted space here. Or the headline about Allen Iverson being courted by the Clippers? Any Clippers headlines right now are like “What? Man, Please.”
This is the only headline worth talking about as it appears the Magic have matched the Mavs’ offer to Gortat, who was a standout backup for Dwight Howard last year. I believed I blogged about this before and had resigned my life to the fact that he was gonna sign with the Mavs, but the Orlando franchise came up and matched his offer!
This is a good thing AND a bad thing.
The Good: They keep one of their more defensively reliable players; a guy with great footwork, a great feel for the ball on the defensive end, a tough rebounder, a non-loudmouth jackass.
The Bad: The Orlando Magic, in signing Gortat, have propelled themselves into Luxury Tax territory and will be strapped for cash for the next few years.
I think this is a good move overall, I just wonder about the financial aspect of it …
I’ve never been an avid watcher of the WNBA. I watch when I have the time and when I feel desperate for hoops. That’s not to say that I hate the WNBA by any stretch of the imagination. It’s more that I dislike the tempo of the game. It’s slower paced, and very limited in its scope. I find it to be more like a Men’s League game or a High School game …. maybe even college – except that college hoops has March Madness as its one saving grace.
Regardless, when I do watch, I usually find a game that is enjoyable. I watch San Antonio (obviously), Phoenix and the LA Sparks, which is why I am posting this …
Anyway …
What I DO know about the WNBA is that Lisa Leslie has been the FACE of that organization for damn near a year now. Her name always comes up first when speaking of the best women players in the world. And she has been instrumental in legitimizing a sport that started off being ridiculed and mocked by damn near everyone. Not to mention the fact that she has brought the Los Angeles area a player that they could identify with when speaking of the WNBA AND brought women’s hoops back to prominence on the world stage …
Well, Lisa Leslie is finally hanging them up.
I’ve always respected her and her game. And I have to say that it is always surprising to see a player that I have grown up watching in my late teens retire. I don’t know why.
Maybe it’s cuz you expect those players to stay at that all star level forever. Like, I won’t retire til I’m 50 and I sometimes expect NBA players to live that same style of life, you know?
So Lisa Leslie retires leaving a HUGE hole in the WNBA that needs to be filled. NOT the Franchise Player hole, that’s gonna be filled by Candace Parker. No, I’m talking about the “Face of the WNBA” hole. They have lots of talented ladies playing – Diana Taurasi, the aforementioned Parker, Becky Hammon, Sue Bird ….. but I wonder if one of them has the charisma and stage presence that Lisa Leslie possesses ….
I am starting my countdown to the 3 on 3 at long last!
I feel good again. I have gone for bike rides in the last 2 days as well as timed walks. Last night’s ride was about 3 1/2 hours, and when it was all done, my knee felt a bit tired and sore, but nowhere near as sore as it used to be. It was reassuring.
I am trying to take things slow in the next few days so that my knee has a few more days of rest before I put it through the paces again.
Our jersey design is finally complete as well., as you can see above. I changed a few things from the prototype that I had and I am quite happy with the updated look.
We work this week to print the screens out and iron them onto the jerseys. Nothing complex, but definitely time consuming. In any case, we’re gonna look pimped out on the court.
How shitty would it be to see Iverson in a Grizzlies jersey?
After the tragedy that was his Detroit career and his meh performance in Denver, one has to wonder what the hell he’s thinking …. dude, go back to Philly, play one more year and get your number retired!
See, this move makes more sense to me. A guy like Millsap has proven himself to be a valuable enough player to warrant this kind of money. And he gets $10 Million of his $32 Million upon being signed …. TEN MILLION DOLLARS material instantly …. what a ridiculous sum of money ….
I feel a teensy bit bad for Boozer. I mean, to be told that you are not wanted any more and that you will be traded ….. all because a tounger guy is coming in and doing your job when you are injured …. it sucks ….
